Gai Shishio

What a find!!!

See, there's this trinket market in my hometown, they carry all the uselss crap one buys without even really wanting. There's a spot where they have been carrying vintage stuff by this Korean company SonoKong. Yes, toys that are not made in China actually exist, and this is one of those rare cases.

I got this toy without even knowing where the hell it came from. I don't read korean, so, I had to do some research, and found out it's from the anime GaoGaiGar (never heard of it).

Anyway, please don't read the following, it's just a waste of time copy/paste.

Gai Shishio A brave man with tremendous courage and enthusiasm, and the strength to never give up for the sake of life—even at the possible cost of his own.

Former astronaut and test pilot for the Space Development Corporation. In 2003, he had been in orbit testing an experimental space shuttle when an extraterrestrial object (later classified as EI-01) suddenly appeared in his flight path, smashing his shuttle out of the way. This left the shuttle disabled and Guy himself in a near-death state.

The alien mechanical lion, Galeon, would then appear and deal a crushing blow to EI-01, sending it out of orbit to land on Earth. Thereafter, Galeon would find the critically wounded Guy and return him to the Space Development Corporation. Adapting Galeon's technologies, his father Leo Shishioh would create a cyborg body for his son (with a G-Stone-powered mechanical heart), saving his life and giving him superhuman strength.

Cyborg Guy

Though legally declared dead, Guy would join the Gutsy Geoid Guard and become the commander of its Mobile Unit. Serving alongside his old high school sweetheart Mikoto Utsugi, he would boldly stand against signs of the coming alien threat. This would bear fruit when the Zonder Robo EI-02 emerged from Garbage Island in 2005. GGG's grand counterattack prepared, he would perform Fusion with Galeon and Final Fusion with the GaoMachines to become the Super Mechanoid GaoGaiGar and destroy EI-02, beginning a long-running battle against the Zonder threat.

While operating in the field, Cyborg Guy was equipped with "Ultimate Armor", derived from the ID Armor previously worn by the disbanded secret organization ID5. When in battle, he entered Equip mode, readying himself and placing a data-gathering lens over his right eye (the data being displayed with the shout of "Library"). On his left hand, he wore a GaoBrace that served to protect the G-Stone that provided him energy, as well as incorporating a signaling mechanism that utilized that power for calling Galeon with the "projection beam". The rear of the GaoBrace contained a sheath for Guy's Will Knife, a G-Stone-based bladed weapon with variable sharpness (determined through the will of the user; hence the name).

In emergency situations, Guy could tap into the energy batteries (the orange canisters linked in series that fall on either side of Guy's face) to enter a golden-colored Hyper Mode—raising his fighting power to its absolute limit, though the effect could only last three minutes.

Cyborg Guy had the additional ability to operate in the vacuum of space for limited periods of time.

In this form, Guy often called himself "mankind's strongest Cyborg" (jinrui saikyō no Cyborg). Despite the bold claim, Guy's cyborg body is still somewhat less than invincible. In fact, until Mamoru's restorative powers came to light, it would take time for Guy to recover from battles, and successive uses of Hell and Heaven would send him to the emergency room.

Oh hell no. But I'm glad I bought a Korean rare super-articulated vintage piece of clear plastic with shiny golden armor.

Monev the Gale: SUB-ZERO attack ver.

Not only did I found me a Kaiyodo Monev the Gale, but after 7 years of looking, I found the Sub- Zero exclusive for Diamon Comics.

Introduced in Episode 12 of the anime, Monev the Gale is part of The Gung-Ho Guns, a group of twelve "superpowered killing feaks" who do Knives's bidding. Big and strong, with big guns mounted on his body, The Gale has spent 20 years training to kill Vash the Stampede. This Previews Exclusive version was personally approved by Trigun creator Yasuhiro Nightow and:

•stands 9" tall

•features 27 points of articulation

•is sculpted by Katsuhisa Yamaguchi

•has a new head sculpt, with a clear plastic body, and an interior skeleton that glows in the dark

The sculpting on this toy is really awesome. Individual bullets, rivets and panels are all clearly detailed. There are 3 different face plates you can attach via a peg on the side of the head, and a rubble base for the figure to stand on. The gun barrels on each arm spin freely.

Oh, and it glows in the dark.

I had to buy an "accesory" for him: Vash the Stampede black version.

Monev the Gale seems to be the best toy ever created by mankind in the opinion of many experts and occasional toy buyers.

ROTF HUMAN ALLIANCE BUMBLEBEE

So, a $1,000 pesos transformer, huh??? I don't think so.

Fortunately, nobody gives a damn about toys in this god Forsaken place, so Walmart and their convenient "this has to go at any price" policy helped me get this at 75% off. You make the numbers.

It always happens with yellow transformers, the plastic looks like... well... PLASTIC; fortunately, this is a little bit more glossy, so it doesn't look too bad.

The details of the sculpt is good: the front, the rhims, the rear lights, the logos, etc... just good enough. BUT the shape of the car looks bulky; feels like the Camaro took some steroids. Ugh.

Now, robot mode is where the fun starts. I'm not exactly smart when it comes to puzzles, and some transformers are... so it takes a little bit more than a few twists and turns to transform this thing.

Even with all those hollow places through the body that make this Bumblebee look like it's made of chopsticks, it has an overall nice front looking appearance.

The articulation is great, the poseability is better than I expected.

And look, since it's "human alliance", it comes with a little stupid looking Shia LeBouf figure... Yes, the likeness is very accurate... THAT STUPID FACE!!!

The figure can be attached to Bumblebee in multiple places, it's really fun to mess up with this thing. It has some interesting gimmicks and features like the face plate, hand canyon, hidden weapons...

DID I NEED THIS???

NO, but who can resist a 75% discount on a good looking transformer.

The revenge of Spidey.

Resident Evil 5 NECA.

Some monthw ago, NECA teased the world before February's Toy Fair event...not to mention New York Comic Con. Among the killer shots of their Street Fighter 4 and Bionic Commando figures were three shots we thought you'd like the opportunity to drool over. Time to cover the keyboard.

The Resident Evil 5 figure series brings the return of Chris Redfield, his new partner Sheva, and the villain Executioner. Each figure stands 7" tall and comes with game accurate weapons and accessories.

The first line of RE5 figs included Chris, Sheva, and the Executioner majini. As you may know, NECA holds the majority of the videogame licenses and is one of the best in the industry in creating highly accurate, detailed figures for a mass production company. Their figures have gotten better by the year, and now they have released their most articualted figure yet.

If you bought the RE4 figs, you knew they were pretty static and while they looked good and were solid, they didn't do much outside of their sculpt. Now Chris here can do all sorts of poses, and looks good doing all of them. The paint application is solid overall, although there is some spotty work, but noticed only up close. Unlike NECA's 12" figures, these won't break when you move them. They are a bit stiff out out of the box, but they loosen up in a few minutes.

The scuplts do a good job with the likenss. My favorite feature: His machete is removable. They both come with two weapons. Chris' uniform is nicely detailed, and the BSAA logo is awesome. The earpiece is also painted, and a nice touch, as is his stubble.

Basically every fan of the series, make sure to pick this one up. After a few months, NECA ceases production and the prices skyrocket, like in the case of the RE4 figs.

Oh did I mention I found the licker and the Tyrant??? Great stuff.

Did I need these???

For long time I've been a fan of the series, and these are my first human RE figures. I think I did need some decent RE figures.
